Hall of Fame for Alumni
As we walk through the Vestibule of Central Teaching Building,the Hall of Fame for Alumnigradually emerges in our sight.During the long glory history,Xi'an Jiaotong University has cultivated a batch of prominent elites for our country.Nominated as they were,we can easily distinguish them out,let' take a look:
This is Qian Xuesen,as the main leader of rockery establishments and one of the vital founders of spaceflight project of China,representing a symbol of Xi'an Jiaotong University.In commemoration of him,Xi'an Jiaotong University has placed QianXueSen in front of the name of its library and the best institution.
This handsome man is Cai E,the great revolutionist who firstly aroused the battle to fight against the autocracy of Yuan Shi Kai.
And this is Huang Xuhua,the founding father of China's first generation of nuclear submarines.
OMG,that's exactly Wu Wenjun,the international grand master of topology!
Also there are Zhang Guangdou,Bai Yukun,Xu Guangxian······and so on.There are so many great alumnis that we only display some of them,now let's move to the next part.
The Tengfei Tower Square
At the south of the central teaching buildings,we can see a high tower called"Tengfei",which means "Fly over and Surpass" in Chinese.The tower has a height of 21 meters,which means"flying to the 21st century"At the top of the tower,there is a huge bird scuplture called Kunpeng as a symbol of "Broadening our dreams".The height of Kunpeng is exactly 5 meters ,meaning cooperation between the 5Jiaotong Universities.
North to the tower bases,there is a statue demonstrating a beautiful women holding books and presenting a strong desire of exploring the future on her expressions,which was regarded as a symbol of "No Failure in Exams" for our students.
There is a colorful flashlight fountain behind the tower.When evening begins,it becomes surprisingly sparkling,like a flaring flower shooting laser.
Around the tower bases,you can see some sculptures beside the fountain or on the 10 columns,despicting the development of Xi'an Jiaotong University.There is also a map of China denoting the location of 5 Jiaotong Universities with the meaning of cooperation and transcend.
